The 30 Best Sitcoms to Help You Unwind After Work

Because there's no better way to end your day than with a good laugh.

Sitcoms are the best. Sure, I love a good drama or thriller here and there, but after so many plot twists they just stress me out. And I’m not here to be stressed. Whenever I decide to watch TV after work (and by watch TV I mean absolutely veg out on the couch for longer than I'm comfortable admitting), sitcoms never let me down. Unless you’re living under a rock or just hate laughter, you’ve probably seen your fair share of sitcoms. If you’re in the market for some new shows to watch, look no further. Here are the best sitcoms to help you unwind after work (in no particular order).

1. The Office

Fact: "The Office" is the BEST sitcom ever. Fact: You will enjoy it and probably lose track of time after a binging session.

2. Parks and Recreation

Parks and Rec has a similar setup to "The Office," so if you enjoy the documentary-style sitcom, you'll like Parks and Rec!

3. The Big Bang Theory

"Big Bang Theory" is a classic! Any science enthusiast or sitcom enthusiast would enjoy it!

4. Friends

You know a show is worth checking out when fans threaten to riot if it's taken off Netflix.

5. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

It's Always Sunny. Because watching fictional people make bad decisions is an ego boost. Also, who doesn't love Danny DeVito?

6. Seinfeld

An oldie but a goodie. One of many great throwbacks on this list!

7. According to Jim

This sitcom is sure to get you laughing!

8. The Conners

If you have ever seen and enjoyed "Roseanne," you might like this sequel of a sitcom that follows the Conner family years in the future!

9. Futurama

Good news, everyone! Futurama made this list!

10. The Cool Kids

Young or old, this show is sure to capture your attention and leave you laughing!

11. Bob's Burgers

"Bob's Burgers" is probably one of the most delightful adult cartoons to hit the scene, because everyone is so average. The characters are relatable, but the situations are crazy enough to be entertaining.

12. Golden Girls

"Golden Girls" is a classic, so naturally it just had to make the list!

13. Arrested Development

"Arrested Development" follows a widower just trying to keep his dysfunctional family together. Definitely worth a watch!

14. The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Cults, gentrification, and social justice, oh my! "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" tackles a ton of typically sensitive topics, but in a way that is hilarious and easily digestible.

15. New Girl

Although the show ended in 2018, "New Girl" still gets a lot of views- and for good reason! If you like dramedies that center around the interpersonal relationships of the characters, "New Girl" is worth checking out.

16. Full House

We don't always endorse corny humor, but when we do, it's probably from "Full House."

17. Fuller House

"Fuller House" follows several of the original characters years later, just like "The Conners." And yes, it's just as cute as "Full House!"

18. Frasier

Frasier is another throwback. It's not as well-known to younger audiences, but definitely still worth a watch!

19. Everybody Loves Raymond

If you're not watching for Ray Romano, you're watching for Doris Roberts. Her sass carries the show, in my humble opinion.

20. Atypical

"Atypical" is about a teen on the autism spectrum looking to be more independent and navigate the dating world. This family comedy truly has a lot of heart!

21. Modern Family

The title says it all. "Modern Family" follows a, well, modern family! The diverse cast of characters and wild situations the family ends up in make for a great show!

22. The Middle

At first glance, "The Middle" is just about an ordinary family dealing with ordinary life situations. However, it's also very heartfelt, relatable, and funny. 10/10 would binge.

23. Black-ish

This cast of outgoing characters confronts and challenges racial stereotypes, all while being absolutely hilarious!

24. Grown-ish

"Grown-ish" is a spinoff of "Black-ish", following Zoey, the now college-aged daughter of Dre and Bow. If you like "Black-ish", you'll definitely like "Grown-ish"!

25. Young Sheldon

Fans of "The Big Bang Theory" will enjoy this prequel of sorts that follows the adventures of Sheldon in his kid years.

26. The Good Place

Philosophy, ethics, humor, and a wild twist ending in the first season? What more could you ask for in a show?

27. Brooklyn Nine-Nine

This isn't your average cop show. Despite the intensity of working in criminal justice, hilarity always ensues in "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."

28. How I Met Your Mother

This show is truly legen....wait for it....dary!

29. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

You know you're singing the theme song in your head right now.

30. The Simpsons

"The Simpsons" is the quintessential adult cartoon. Even if you've never seen it, you know it's there. Check it out sometime- you'll be glad you did.

Happy watching!
